Birmingham Staff

Joel has been on staff with Campus Outreach since 2015 and holds a Master’s in Counseling from Reformed Theological Seminary. He is married to Kate, and they have two kids, Owen and Micah. Joel is passionate about helping students and staff grow in their relationship with God and make a lasting impact on the lost world.

Before coming to college, Joel lived a life of legalism, trying to follow the rules and pay for his own sin. During his freshman year at Berry College, God used Campus Outreach staff and students to share the beauty of the Gospel with him (Ephesians 2:8). It was then that Christ’s death and resurrection made sense, freeing him from the prison of guilt he had been living in. Now, many years later, Joel desires to point college students to that same freedom and develop leaders who will flourish. He longs to see God raise up men and women on the college campus who will lead the next generation and take the Gospel to the lost world.

As an Area Director, Joel leads, cares for, and develops the staff at Berry College, University of West Georgia, and Jacksonville State University. He also serves on the Campus Outreach Birmingham Leadership team and as an elder at King’s Chapel in Carrollton, GA.
