Before I became a Christian, I put all of my efforts into people viewing me as a “great guy.” In high school, I was really involved, and I tried as hard as I could to be successful and to please my teachers, my parents, and my friends. I was really involved in my youth group, I read my bible, and I said my prayers. I thought I could earn Heaven, and I was constantly driven by fear that God and everyone around me would see through my fakeness. During my freshman year at Troy, while I was struggling with trying to find all the answers, God revealed himself to me and penetrated my heart with the beauty of Jesus. He showed me that it wasn’t the strength of my faith, but the object of my faith that saves me. My life will never look the same, and I am thankful for the joy of the Gospel!
